PCMA's Diversity, Inclusion, and Women’s Leadership Initiative

Mission:

Cultivate an environment within PCMA’s professional network that promotes diversity and supports the inclusion and leadership of underrepresented minority groups, including women.  To provide opportunities for all to join the conversation and support diversity and inclusion throughout their careers. 

The Initiative strives to provide opportunities and to recognize individual identity regardless of race, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, ability, veteran status, social economic class, and religion. We will promote a culture that recognizes the differences and similarities of individuals and groups to improve the systems and structures of PCMA’s network and our broader industry.      

This current iteration of the Initiative grew out of what was formerly the Women’s Leadership Initiative. The Women’s Leadership Initiative was formed in 2018 and served to provide opportunities and to support women’s leadership throughout their careers. In 2020, it was decided that the foundation and success of that initiative’s mission and work would be leveraged and broadened to include all underrepresented minority groups.

D&I Events:

At PCMA’s two annual conferences we will provide a place to connect, make new contacts, share personal experiences, and further the understanding of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. The planning and content for these events will be guided by the Initiative’s Co-chairs, advisory committee, and PCMA staff.

Advisory Committee

The Committee is comprised of 15+ members that provide strategic advice to PCMA Staff and to the Initiative’s Co-chairs. The committee will participate in a series of conference calls through-out the year to advise on the recruitment of PCMA conference speakers, as well as the content and objectives for the events. The committee is responsible for promoting the two annual events within their companies and networks.
